Joined by hints of cedar and vanilla, this is a full-bodied, concentrated effort that deserves some time in the cellar to round into form, as the lengthy finish delivers plenty of ripe but dusty tannins.

The full-bodied 2018 Ermitage Les Dionnières shows the effects of the vineyard location and a hot year in its concentrated scents of black olives, dark chocolate and baked plums. Yet despite the ripeness, this broad, expansive wine is remarkably drinkable, showing a rich, velvety texture and surprising freshness on the long finish.

The 2017 Ermitage Les Dionnières reveals scents of maple syrup, mocha and ripe cherries. It's full-bodied and creamy-supple but dense and concentrated, with a long finish that hints at bitterness and brine—just enough to provide a welcome balance to the lush fruit.

Smoky and cedary up front, the 2016 Ermitage Les Dionnières is already drinkable. Cola and black olive notes give this medium to full-bodied wine a decidedly savory look, but it finishes velvety and long.
