The 2009 Tempranillo has a light nose of baked cherries and licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannins, layers of succulent red fruit, and a pleasing, controlled finish that maintains a modicum of freshness. Drink now.
Carlos and Pilar Martinez-Bujanda Irribarria presently own Finca Antigua, the family having been involved in wine since 1889. But it was not until 2003 that Finca Antigua was founded. They farm high altitude loam and limestone soils.
