The 2006 La Estacada is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Syrah aged for 10 months in new French oak. It offers up a fragrant, slightly roasted bouquet of smoke, cedar, mineral, and blueberry pie. Firm and structured on the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine has plenty of spicy, savory fruit, a smooth texture, and excellent length.
