The 2008 Synthesis The Blend is composed of 45% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Merlot aged in new French oak for 14 months. Toasty oak, Asian spices, incense, lavender, and assorted red and black fruits inform the nose of a savory, ripe, impeccably balanced wine that has enough structure to evolve for another 2-3 years. It will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2023.

The 2007 The Blend Synthesis is a viscous effort with legs that coat the glass. Aromas and flavors of black cherry, plum, and exotic spices lead to a layered, succulent wine loaded with fruit and some underlying structure.
