Initially it gives off murky, soupy aromas. But with airing it rounds into form, displaying prune and oak scents in front of a round, soft, stewy palate of chunky berry flavors. The 2007 Reserve Merlot is dark ruby-colored with a bouquet of damp earth, clove, cinnamon, and red fruits. It has some elegance and attractive flavors but is in need of more depth and concentration.
