The 2006 Barolo Bussia is another mid-weight, gracious wine. Raspberries, crushed flowers, spices and minerals emerge from this delicate, feminine Barolo. This doesn’t show a lot of the qualities I tend to associate with the Baroli of Monforte and Bussia in particular, yet it nevertheless impresses for its balance and sense of poise. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
Fratelli Giacosa has been a somewhat inconsistent producer over the years; the best of these wines prove the estate is capable of doing excellent work.
