Notes of fresh cider, spices, and pears emanate from the glass of the 2005 Macon-Villages, quite possibly the finest I’ve tasted to date from Duboeuf (this sentiment was repeated on a number of his 2005 Macons). Broad, sensual, and rich, it coats the palate with white fruits, spices, and notes of melon. Drink this fleshy medium-bodied wine over the next 2 years.
