I am not sure I have ever had a better Shiraz from Victoria than Giaconda’s 2002, a blend of 98% Shiraz and 2% Roussanne aged 19 months in 60% new French oak, and bottled with neither fining nor filtration. It is a complete French-styled effort revealing notes of bacon fat, acacia flowers, blackberries, and cassis along with terrific concentration, a full-bodied texture, and a long, heady, superb finish. This gorgeous red should drink well for a decade or longer.Importer: Negociants, USA, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 259-0993
