The acids and tannins are youthfully edgy, lending a sense of freshness and vitality to the mouthwatering finish.

From a steep, high-elevation site in Bendigo, the 2016 School House Pinot Noir is less perfumed than the China Terrace bottling, but it still has some violet and tea aromas. The fruit is rich and dark, reminiscent of black cherries and blueberries, with an underpinning of savory earth. Give this medium to full-bodied, firmly structured wine a couple of years in the cellar.
