Fermented in oak barrel, 8% new, and aged in oak for five months with occasional stirring and partial spontaneous malo-lactic, the 2010 The August Sauvignon Blanc reveals an intense nose of kumquat, fresh grapefruit, lime tart and orange zest with nuances of cedar and baking bread. Medium bodied and with a gentle silkiness to the texture, the palate offers concentrated citrus and toasted flavors with lively acidity and a very long finish. Drinking nicely now, it should cellar through 2015+.
