The purple-colored 2006 Landrace, composed of 60% Shiraz and 40% Mataro, received the same elevage as the Cabernet. It exhibits an expressive perfume of wood smoke, damp earth, mushroom, blueberry, and blackberry leading to a full-bodied, structured, firm wine that comes off as a bit austere and compact in the finish. It will certainly evolve for at least five years at which point my rating might well seem conservative.
