Still with CO2 in the glass, the Dhroner Riesling Grosses Gew?chs 2020 Hofberg GG opens with ripe and concentrated white fruit aromas on the pure and finely flinty/slatey nose. Lush, piquant and fresh on the palate, with vivacious acidity and lingering salinity, this is a lean but concentrated Hofberg with good tension and intensity. Still young but really promising. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in May 2022.

The 2019 Hofberg GG is intensely fruity on the nose, where a super ripe and warm (if not stewed) Riesling aroma intertwines with finely milled stony notes. Lush and refined on the palate, this is a full-bodied and elegant yet also massive and powerful Dhroner Hofberg with palatable alcohol and an accordingly firm tannin structure. It's not really finessed and is rather astringent on the finish. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in May 2022.

From weathered red slate, the 2017 Hofberg Riesling Trocken GG is intensely fruity on the somewhat ostensible nose and palate. Tropical and stone fruit flavors intermix with some oaky notes, whereas the finish is still slightly bitter.
