The 1992 Blanc de Blancs, a 100% Chardonnay aged for 4 years on its lees, possesses both finesse and elegance. This fresh wine possesses a creamy-textured, wheat thin-like nose, excellent ripeness, light to medium body, and well-defined, tiny pinpoint bubbles. Dry, refreshing, and impressively made, it should be drunk over the next several years. I found the three offerings reviewed in this segment to be well-made, and as long-time readers know, I am generally not a fan of New World sparkling wines.Greenpoint is the Australian branch of France's Moet-Chandon sparkling wine empire. Production averages about 90,000 cases, and the wines have just begun to be exported.Importer: Old Bridge Cellars (Rob McDonald), San Francisco, CA; tel. (415) 863-9463
