The 2002 Shiraz was aged 18 months in 70% French oak and 30% new American wood. A tiny percentage of Viognier is included, resulting in an uplifted, fragrant, exotic bouquet of acacia flowers intertwined with marmalade, blackberries, and cassis. A superb texture, an opulent, full-bodied palate, beautiful purity, a sense of elegance, and nicely integrated wood, acidity, and tannin are found in this Cote Rotie-styled Shiraz. It is best consumed during its first 7-10 years of life.Importer: Benjamin Hammerschlag, Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
