The 1994 Semillon is an excellent example of this underappreciated varietal. Enticing aromas of honey intermingled with notes of candied pink grapefruit are followed by a light-to-medium-bodied, thirst-quenching wine filled with loads of spices, citrus fruits and honey. The 1992 Semillon displays a forceful, perfumed nose, excellent ripeness, and a fleshy, chewy texture with gobs of fruit. It is an ideal soul-mate for Pacific Northwest salmon. Hogue continues to turn out a bevy of gorgeously ripe, concentrated, delicious, dry white wines. These wines should all be consumed over the next 12 months.
