The 2019 Santenay Rouge Gravité has turned out especially well, unwinding in the glass with scents of cassis, plums, rich spices and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's built around rich, powdery tannins and lively acids. This is one of the most serious wines in the range, and it will require a bit of patience.

Vincent's special selection of old-vine fruit, the 2017 Santenay Rouge Gravité has turned out very nicely, opening in the glass with a deep and reserved bouquet of sweet soil tones, plums, cassis and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, it's deep and complete, with chalky structure and tangy acids. At least five years patience will be richly rewarded.

The 2016 Santenay Rouge Gravité is showing well from barrel, revealing aromas of smoky wild berries, spices, dark chocolate and toasty new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety palate with a juicy core of fruit and a sapid finish.

The 2015 Santenay Rouge Gravité was quite reserved out of the gates, but it is beginning to show very well today, unwinding in the glass with notes of cherries, raspberries, exotic spices and orange oil. Medium to full-bodied, deep and lively, with powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish, it should improve further with additional bottle age.
