Very deep garnet colored, the 2009 Merchant Cabernet Sauvignon gives a nose of creme de cassis, dried Mediterranean herbs and sauteed capsicum with an evolving undercurrent of leather, black olives and tobacco. Full bodied and very crisp in the mouth, the palate gives just enough fruit and a medium to firm level of chewy tannins, with very good persistence. Drink it now to 2017+. No known US importer.
