The 2015 Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Beerenauslese displays a golden-amber-apricot color and opens with a beautifully clear, intense and spicy bouquet of dried apricots and tropical fruits with a hint of honey and caramel. It is sweet and perfectly round on the palate, with cooked apricot aromas and pumpernickel notes yet also firm and refreshing mineral acidity and grip. This is an intense and sweet-piquant BA with fire, grip and fine tannins on the finish. This is a very sweet but excellent Beerenauslese that needs years to age. 9.5% alcohol. Tasted from AP 0916 in July 2020.
