The 2014 Barbaresco Bricco Faset shows classic Nebbiolo aromas with some cherry sweetness at the front. With a light color and lean appearance, this is a loosely knit wine with thick fiber. It's meant for near-term drinking for sure.

Very ripe and heavier than past editions, the 2011 Barbaresco Bricco Faset is redolent of black fruit, clove, old leather and grilled herb. This is a mid-weight wine with more density and concentration compared to the 2010 edition that I tasted at the same time. This Barbaresco ages in large oak casks for one year. Some 3,500 bottles were produced.

The 2010 Barbaresco Bricco Faset is a lean and ethereal expression of Nebbiolo. The bouquet opens to a delicate embroidery of wild berries, smoke, tar and powdered licorice. The tannins are dry, but the wine should continue to hold steady for the next 5 years or more.
