A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, the foursquare 1996 Terricci is typical of many Tuscan wines from this vintage. It displays moderate amounts of new oak in its sweet, damp foresty, licorice, plum, and currant-scented bouquet. The 1995 Terricci (a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French casks) displays a dark ruby/purple color, as well as an excellent nose of black cherry fruit intermixed with spice, herbs, smoke, and earth. The 1994 Terricci is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It exhibits a dense purple color, a sweet, cassis, cedar, leathery, spicy-scented nose, fat, opulently-textured flavors, excellent, possibly outstanding richness (gobs of jammy black-cherry fruit), and a chewy, intense, long, silky-textured finish.
