The 2013 Franciacorta Millesimato Brut Rosé (disgorged in 2018) is one of those pink sparkling wines that looks so beautiful when poured into the glass. The wine's luminous appearance is magnified by the shiny gleam of its soft perlage. This is a 50/50 blend of Pinot Nero and Chardonnay aged on the lees for 42 months. That's just enough yeast contact to build the wine's texture and those lasting flavors of stone fruit, wild berry and baked bread. Some 40,000 bottles were made.

It offers layers of wild berry, cassis and bitter almond. As the wine warms in the glass, it begins to show preserved lemon and tangerine skin. The perlage is soft and creamy. Chardonnay and Pinot Nero are blended in equal parts and the wine is aged on the lees for 42 months.
