The 2021 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard is powerful and broody. Medium ruby in color, it has alluring aromas of cranberry, pipe tobacco, conifer, mossy bark and potpourri. The medium-bodied palate is chalky with bursts of mouthwatering acidity to refresh its powerful, spicy fruit, and it has a long, mineral-driven finish at this youthful stage. It will benefit from 3-5 years in bottle. 210 cases were made.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1999 at 1,150 feet in elevation at the cooler north end of the Anderson Valley. It has a medium ruby color and pure scents of cranberries, cast iron, potpourri, aniseed, mushroom and burnt orange peel. The medium-bodied palate is silky and seamless, with layer after layer of amaro-laced flavors that fan across the palate and drive the persistent finish. 210 cases were made.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard comes from a tiny, 1.9-acre hilltop vineyard at about 1,000 feet in elevation. The nose opens slowly to tar, seaweed, bay leaves, graphite and underbrush with a core of crunchy cranberries and blackberries. In the mouth, it’s light-bodied with crunchy, minerally fruits and elegant earthy accents, offering bright pops of freshness and a long but understated finish. This will benefit from another couple years in bottle.
