I have drunk all of Carillon's premiers crus in this vintage recently, and the finest is clearly the 2009 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, pastry cream and toasted almonds. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, it's the most layered and concentrated wine in the range, with elegant structuring dry extract and lively balancing acids.
