The floral, tangerine-scented 2018 Muscat de Beaumes de Venise shows an excellent balance of honeyed lychee fruit and acidity. It's medium-bodied and mouthwatering, finishing long and vibrant.

The 2017 Muscat de Beaumes de Venise bursts from the glass with floral notes (rose petals) and hints of lychee fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it's medium to full-bodied and sweet but balanced, with citrus pith on the finish. While Chapoutier says we drink these wines too young, I think they're at their best in their first few years, when all the exotic florals and spices are at their peak.

The 2015 Beaumes de Venise, which is 100% Muscat that spent ten months in stainless steel tanks and checks in at 16.1% alcohol. This killer sweet wine has a huge, honeyed, tangerine and floral bouquet that, despite all of its richness and sweetness, stays fresh and lively, with beautifully defined aromas and flavors. It is full-bodied, juicy, elegant and layered. Drink it over the coming couple of years. It’s a perfect wine to pair with any fruit dessert.

Moving to the 2014 dessert wines, the 2014 Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is beautifully fresh and lively, with tons of floral and tangerine aromas and flavors; it has lots of honeyed fruit on the palate, medium to full-bodied richness and a clean, crisp finish. It’s terrific and would be great with a cheese course or fruit dessert.

Lastly, the sweet 2013 Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is clean and crisp, with fabulous lychee, white peach and mint notes in its medium-bodied, pure, elegant and juicy feel. The sweetness here is beautifully integrated, and it stays fresh and lively on the palate. It’s a versatile sweetie to drink over the coming year or so.
