The 2019 Saint-Romain Sous Le Chateau is lovely, bursting with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh bread and iodine. Medium-bodied, chalky and precise, with tangy acids to girdle its pretty core of fruit, this is a fine effort that flies under the radar.

Aromas of pear, white flowers and citrus oil preface Leroux's 2018 Saint-Romain Sous Le Chateau, a medium-bodied, succulent and lively white that's pure, nicely balanced and eminently drinkable.

The 2016 Saint Romain Sous Le Chateau had absolutely no frost at all according to Leroux. It has an attractive, mineral-driven bouquet that conveys a sense of energy and tension. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that neatly cuts through the slightly honeyed fruit. There is clearly great length here. This is a very fine Saint-Romain and comes highly recommended.

The 2014 Saint Romain Sous Le Chateau has a delightful bouquet with fresh lime and green apples, as well as pleasant granitic scents coming through in the glass with aeration. The palate is clean and fresh with a crisp line of acidity, just a touch of spice enlivening the finish that gently fans out. This is highly recommended - a very well crafted Saint Romain that will charm over the next 4-5 years...if you can wait that long.
