The 2019 Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Tannenberg (made with organic fruit) delivers interwoven tropical tones that are folded into peach, toasted almond, flinty smoke and crushed stone. This is a soft and silky expression of Sauvignon Blanc with a lean mouthfeel but lots of lifted aromatic freshness that embraces white and yellow fruit, instead of the zestier green fruits. The wine's power is driven by a 14% alcoholic content, easily managed with a platter of seafood paella. Some 12,500 bottles were made.

The oak-fermented and aged Manincor 2018 Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Tannenberg (with 15,000 bottles made) offers a broad and rich interpretation of the grape with a light gold appearance and plenty of orchard fruit. Abundant apricot and peach are followed by bright tones of cantaloupe melon, Meyer lemon and toasted almond. This mid-weight white puts more emphasis on mouthfeel than it does on its varietal aromas. It's a good fit for a chicken salad with raisins and walnuts.

A pure expression of Sauvignon Blanc made according to biodynamic principles, the 2017 Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Tannenberg (with 13,000 bottles made) is a tight and streamlined wine with pretty layers of tropical fruit, summer peach and lemon blossom. This hot vintage offers extra density and concentration that suits the fragrant and streamlined nature of the grape very nicely. I'd serve it with a French chou rouge, a red cabbage salad.

The 2015 Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Blanc Tannenberg is a slightly more evolved and weighty expression of this fragrant grape variety. This is a grounded and centered white wine with rich aromas of peach, stone fruit, apricot, lemon preserves and toasted pine nut. The 2015 vintage was a warm one, and this wine tastes like it has more glycerin and natural concentration as a result. The finish is a tad heavy, but there are zesty citrus notes to keep it lively.

The 2013 Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Blanc Tannenberg is a fragrant and full expression of the grape with generous aromas of stone fruit, melon, yellow rose and delicately dusty white mineral. The nose shows subtle complexity and a relatively low profile level of aromatic intensity considering the variety. The wine speaks in hushed tones. The mouthfeel is rich in texture and creaminess.
