An intriguing offering, the 2002 Tinta Amarela/Grenache is a blend of 80% of the former (a Portuguese varietal) and 20% of the latter. This strikingly unique effort is somewhat monolithic on the palate, but offers up an interesting bouquet of white flowers intermingled with mountain berry fruit and earth. Well-made, pure, ripe, and medium-bodied, but slightly compact and foursquare, it will be interesting to see what develops over the next 7-8 years.
