From the Gimblett Gravels in Hawkes Bay comes a fine, Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois style nose with good definition and perky raspberry and redcurrant fruits. Very lifted, with judicious use of new oak. The palate is medium-bodied, light and airy with vivacious raspberry and strawberry flavours. This has good balance, not pushed too hard with an elegant finish. Very fine, lighter-styled Bordeaux blend. Drink 2008-2015. Tasted January 2008.
