Unfortunately, only ten barrels (250 cases) of this superb Zinfandel were produced by winemaker Bob Levy. Made from an old head-pruned vineyard in St. Helena, it appears to have been produced from incredibly low yields and extremely ripe fruit. The opaque purple color is followed by lavish aromas of toasty oak, smoke, jammy black fruits, and spice. While the wine is well-structured, it boasts oodles of jammy rich fruit, an unctuous texture, superb purity, and a finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. Drink this well-balanced, blockbuster Zinfandel over the next 7-8 years. Yummy!NOTE: All the wines in this article were tasted in May, 1996.Tel. (707) 963-2225
