The 2020 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is sealed under Diam cork. The wine is leafy and savory and layered with black fruits but doesn't punctuate the middle palate. It's a juicy, uncomplicated wine.

The 2019 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from two sites, distinguished by their row orientations and soil profile. The north/south rows give darker, more brooding fruit, while the rows running east/west get a little more protection from the sun and are therefore more aromatic and more red-fruited, with tannins that are not as intense tannins. In the mouth, the wine is leafy, jubey and sweet. There is lovely fruit wedged into the tannins here. There are notes of cassis, raspberry and brine.

Like its partner, the Shiraz, the 2018 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific value for current drinking. It's less weighty than the Shiraz, appropriately medium-bodied, with fresh, leafy notes layered over cassis and cherry fruit and ending in a wash of softly dusty tannins.
