Made in a similar fashion, the 2009 Mount Dottrel Pinot Gris gives green apple and fresh pear slice aromas with a touch of chalk dust and a subtle creamy/leesy character. Crisp and dry in the mouth, this medium bodied wine is long in the finish. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2013. No known USA importer.

Mitre Rocks’ 2008 Mount Dottrel Pinot Gris is produced from grapes coming from Gibbston Valley. 15-20% of the production was barrel fermented in 500 liter puncheons. It presents pretty peach and warm pear aromas with some chalky/earthy notes. Dry, medium to full bodied, there’s some silkiness to the texture and a nice long pear and apple laced finish. Drink it now through 2012. No known USA importer.
