The 2015 Semele shows contained ripeness despite the heat of the vintage. It's a blend of Tempranillo with 10% Merlot, with grainy tannins and a dry finish. 140,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2016.

The 2014 Semele felt extremely ripe, playing with overripeness. It is a blend of Tempranillo with 10% Merlot, with a light and easy palate and very ripe flavors. 130,000 bottles and other formats, including half-liters and magnums.

The 2013 Semele is a blend of Tempranillo with 10% Merlot added to the Tempranillo that was aged in used barrels (20% American), and has a nose of very ripe fruit and some toasted aromas, light and easy to drink, with some fine tannins. 130,000 bottles.

The 2011 Semele Crianza has 10% Merlot added to the Tempranillo and was aged in used barrels, a welcomed move in the region. The nose is quite fruit-driven and the palate is quite light, a little hollow in the middle, with good acidity but a little bit thin. Drink now-2016. Importer: Hidalgo Imports, Miami, Fl; tel. The 2010 Semele Crianza comes from Valbuena and is aged in used mainly French oak. It has a dense, simple, licorice-tinged bouquet, while the palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a pleasurable, rounded, cassis and dark plum finish. Not bad at all. Drink now. No known US importer.
