Moutard’s NV Brut Rose is made in a relatively light-weight, feminine style. Red berries, flowers and sweet baking spices are woven together on a soft, subtle frame. This shows lovely length and persistence, but not quite the personality of the estate’s top wines. The Rose is made from 100% Pinot Noir that sees a short period of maceration on the skins followed by three years on its lees. This bottle was disgorged in July, 2010. Dosage was 10 grams per liter. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013. Moutard is located in the Cote des Bar and has vineyards in Buxeuil and Polisy where limestone soils prevail.A Thomas Calder Selection, imported by: Polaner Selections, Mt. Kisco, NY; tel.
