The 2020 Termes, the entry-level red, has 15.65% alcohol and a pH of 3.9 with 4.2 grams of acidity. The grapes from their younger vines, which have higher yields and keep more acidity, fermented with selected yeasts and 20 days of maceration and matured in 225- and 400-liter French oak barrels, 20% of them new, for 14 months with rackings every four months. It's creamy and spicy, round and soft, with fine-grained tannins and integrated oak (nearly 50% of the élevage was in 400-liter oak barrels), and it's rich but with the alcohol nicely integrated. This has a more commercial profile, more approachable than its siblings. 130,000 bottles produced.

Rich and minerally on the nose, showing earth and iron notes that serve as accents to the ripe black plum and cassis fruit on the palate, with hints of eucalyptus and cocoa. A bold red, with fine, dense tannins tightly meshed to the detailed flavor range and lively balsamic acidity. The most approachable of the reds is the 2018 Termes, which comes through as classical, with complexity and freshness and is easy to drink. It's ripe without excess, and the oak is neatly integrated after 16 months in 225- and 400-liter French oak barrels, 20% of them new. It's clean and balanced, with a soft texture and round tannins. It finishes supple and with varietal flavors. 140,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2020.

This red shows concentration and grace, offering spice-laced cherry and red plum notes infused with anise, espresso and graphite elements. Refined, plush tannins give a nice feel throughout. Drink now through 2028. 12,500 cases made, 10,000 cases imported.??–GS??Region: Spain / Toro Select to Add
