With an attractive nose of brioche, a touch of coconut and almond, nice definition and poise, the palate of the 2008 Obsidian Chardonnay is well balanced with well integrated creamy new oak, touches of vanilla and creme brulee. Nice poise and tension on the understated finish. Superb. Drink now-2013. No known American importer.

A well-defined nose with prudent use of new oak, with a little honey, smoke and lanolin. Just lacking some definition on the palate but a nice mineral quality coming through on the finish. Gets better the longer it stays in the glass, so maybe give this some aeration before pouring. Drink now-2010. Tasted January 2008.
