A blend of 49% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec, the 2018 Yakima Valley Red Wine is almost opaque in the glass with a deep magenta rim. Aromas of sage, thyme and roasted peppers waft with elements of spiced blackberry jus, plump skin and crème de cassis. Medium to full-bodied, the red blend is nimble on the palate with firm, gripping tannins that will best be paired with red meat and chops. This should drink gracefully for the next 4 to 5 years. 30,000 bottles produced.

The 2017 Yakima Valley Red Wine, a blend of 59% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc, wafts with aromas of blackberry, dark plum, juicy dark cherry, hints of vanilla bean and bitter dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is initially juicy, before showing a persistent spice that lingers through the mid-palate. It ends with a frame of juicy fruit expressions and buttressing tannins on the mineral-laced finish. The wine aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 40% first use. 30,000 bottles were produced.

Black raspberry, currants and dark plums all waft from the glass of the 2016 Yakima Valley Red Wine, effortlessly giving up soft herbal tones, floral aromas and subtle spice notes. Medium-bodied on the palate, the wine shows a good focus that is slightly rustic, with textured dark fruits and a dusty rockiness on the mid-palate, finishing long with lingering tannins. 2,467 cases produced.

The 2015 Yakima Valley Red Wine is a chewy medium to full-bodied Bordeaux blend that's long on tannin and short on character. It may improve with time, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The 2014 Yakima Valley Red Wine from Owen Roe is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It sports a vibrant ruby/purple tinged color as well as perfumed notes of black cherries, raspberries, leafy herbs and baking spices. Medium-bodied, supple, polished and downright gulpable, it has loads of character and will drink nicely for 5-6 years.
