Ruby colored, the 2009 Pencarrow Pinot Noir gives pronounced notes of black cherries, black raspberries and plums with hints of anise, black pepper and raw meat. Medium bodied, there’s just enough berry and savory flavors in the mouth with crisp acidity, a low level of grainy tannins and a long peppery finish. Drinking now, it should keep to 2014.
