The 2019 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros C?te de Bouqueyreaux is one of the highlights of Piuze's portfolio—as is invariably the case. Unwinding in the glass with notes of clear honey, Anjou pear, dried white flowers, fresh pastry and light reduction, it's full-bodied, satiny and chiseled, with superb concentration and a long, penetrating finish.

One of the high points of the range is the 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros C?te de Bouqueyreaux, an excellent rendition of this steep-sloping, stony site within the larger climat of Bougros. Revealing aromas of green apple, pear and mint mingled with oyster shell and lemon oil, it's full-bodied, satiny but tensile, with a vibrant, tight-knit core, excellent concentration and a long, racy finish.

Piuze produced only one barrel of the 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros C?te de Bouqueyreaux, but it's showing very well from bottle, bursting with notes of fresh peach, Meyer lemon, oyster shell and beeswax. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and broad, with a satiny attack and a layered, concentrated core. It's a rich rendition of this site, marked by low yields.

When I tasted the 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Cote de Bouqueyreaux it had only just finished its malolactic fermentation and had sulfur added. It has a tightly wound bouquet with light sea spray aromas and oyster shell notes developing with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine delineation and a gentle build in the mouth toward a lightly honeyed finish. This has a touch more cohesion and finesse than the Bougros and is perhaps one of Piuze's most cerebral offerings this year.

The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Cote de Bouqueyreaux has a much more vital and intense nose compared to the Blanchots; it has vibrant Granny Smith apples and flint aromas, full of vim and vigor. The palate is well balanced with a slightly creamy entry, moderate acidity with exotic hints of praline and white chocolate, grilled almond towards the finish. Order is restored after the perplexing Chablis Blanchots 2015.
