The 1997 Cabernet Franc is now strictly a library release, but demands noting for its sheer quality. A nose of sweet flowers, honey and candied black fruits leads to a subtly oily, almost schmaltzy palate, medium-bodied but stuffed with ripe berries and alluring inner-mouth florality. The finish is long, pure, polished, soothing, enveloping, and still quite youthful. Some of the high-toned sweet fruit suggestions here may be due to extensive pre-fermentative maceration as well as to unfiltered bottling. Tel. (631) 734-4111
