The 2015 Evans Vineyard Coonawarra is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, all aged in French oak, of which 60% was new. Meant to be age-worthy, this is a tight, slightly austere wine, offering red currants framed by cedar and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied, with a streamlined feel and fine-boned structure, it could use a few years in the cellar to unwind, then should drink well for at least a decade.

A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 8% Shiraz, the 2013 Evans Vineyard Coonawarra shows classic elements of dried herbs, cedar and cassis. Old school cigar box, if you will. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and streamlined, with softly dusty tannins on a long finish that shows just a hint of warmth.
