A pure expression of Colorino, the 2012 Taffetà (with a mere 1,500 bottles produced) is a thick and darkly saturated red wine with an inky dark appearance. The Colorino grape is more about color saturation and richness than it is about aromas per se, although you do get chiseled blackberry tones followed by tar, spice and road asphalt. The wine shows soft tannins followed by thick, loosely knit textural extraction. If you have never tried Colorino in its pure state, this wine is a great place to start.
