Poole’s Rock Shiraz comes from grapes grown on their Post Office Vineyard, adjacent to the winery (and one of the region’s best restaurants, simply called, “Rock”). The 2007 Shiraz has slightly more alcohol, weight and concentration than the 2006 vintage, giving a medium-deep garnet color and purer, earthy, cool climate aromas – blackcurrant, blueberry and underbrush aromas. Some damp dirt and a touch of espresso. The medium bodied palate gives good structure with high acidity and a medium level of chewy tannins. Long savory finish. Drink now to 2018. Founded in 1988, Poole’s Rock produces solid Hunter Valley wines under three major labels, with Poole’s Rock standing as their top-tier flagship.Importer: The Wine Angel; www.Wine-Angel.com
