I tasted three vintages of this wine (2019, 2018 and 2017), and of the three, 2018 was by far the coolest growing season, and the wettest. The 2018 Irpinia Aglianico Terra d'Eclano reveals a very vertical and lifted personality. It shows a fresh and elegant approach with wild cherry, blue flower and sweet gardening soil. There are some tarry and flinty notes as well. There is a hint of a tannic bite on the close that should soften with a few more years of cellar age.
