Showing a touch more cedary oak and firmer tannins than the Mature Vine bottling, the 2017 Emma's Block Mature Vine Pinot Noir appears to be capable of cellaring up to 15 years or so. Cola and black cherries feature on the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is rich and velvety, leading into a long finish.

Slightly lighter in hue than the other Mature Vine offerings and seemingly more open as well, the 2015 Emma's Block Mature Vine Pinot Noir features hints of raspberries and cherries on the nose, alongside thyme and floral notes. It's medium-bodied, with slightly less concentration and redder fruit flavors but with similar fine-grained tannins and tremendous spice and length. It's the one to open now, if you have to, although I expect it to improve for at least another 5 years.

The 2014 Emma's Block Pinot Noir has a medium/deep ruby-purple color and perfumed notes of roses, violets, black raspberries and red currants over a core of fragrant earth, tar, yeast extract and licorice. The medium-bodied palate is packed with intense black and red berry flavors, supported by a good amount of velvety tannins and lively yet seamless acidity, finishing long and layered.

Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2013 Emma's Block Pinot Noir has a slightly restrained nose of cranberries, red currants and pomegranate with raspberry leaf, black pepper and dusty earth suggestions. Medium-bodied, the palate has beautiful energy with youthful red fruit and earth flavors supported by finely grained tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long with a minerally character.

Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2012 Emma's Block Pinot Noir has lovely red cherry, crushed raspberry and red currant notes with underlying hints of rose hip tea and lilacs. Medium bodied, elegant and with great finesse on the palate, it offers lovely silly tannins supporting the fruit through the long finish.
