Hints of pencil shavings, vanilla and bold black cherries mark the nose of the 2015 Brokenstone, a blend of 87% Merlot, with small amounts of Malbec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aged 19 months in 22% new French oak, it's a classy, medium to full-bodied red, with a rich mid-palate and a velvety finish. It should age comfortably up to a decade or more.

The 2014 Brokenstone is 83% Merlot, with the balance a blend of Malbec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aged 18 months in one-third new French oak, it's a rich, voluptuous wine, laden with black cherry fruit and dressed up with hints of cedar, vanilla and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the tannins are supple, imparting a velvety feel to the lingering finish. Drink now or age up to a decade or so.

Composed of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, the 2010 Brokenstone has a deep garnet-purple color and youthfully subdued aromas of fresh blackberries, black cherries and mulberries with hints of dried plum, black olives, pencil shavings and lavender. Medium bodied, taut and solidly constructed on the palate, it has a great acid line cutting through the dense fruit with firm, grainy tannins to support, finishing long. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2008 Broken Stone Merlot displays ripe plum and fruit cake aromas with some cedar and dried leaf nuances. Crisp, taut and structured with firm chewy tannins, it offers just enough fruit in the mouth, going long in the finish. Drinking now, it should cellar to 2015+.
