Much work is being done in Puglia with the Fiano grape and Santa Lucia's 2015 Fiano Gazza Ladra is a good example of the crisp and easy-drinking side of this important white grape from southern Italy. The bouquet offers pretty layers of melon, pear and Golden Delicious apple. The mouthfeel achieves just the right level of intensity and persistence while maintaining the wine's informal appeal. With just 5,000 bottles made, this Fiano offers great quality at a very low price.
