The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot was matured in Burgundian oak barriques, 70% new for 3 years. Deep garnet brick colored, it presents pronounced aromas of warm cassis, black cherry and Chinese dried plum with some herbal notes, tobacco, game, a little menthol and black olive. Full bodied and solidly built with medium-high acid and a medium level of fine tannins, the finish is long with a little discernable oak. Drinking now it should cellar to 2015+.
