Medium ruby, the 2017 Zinfandel Home Ranch is muted on the nose, hinting at red berries, peaches and earth, while the palate is soft and juicy with restrained fruits and a gentle, spicy finish. 1,613 cases produced.

Medium to deep ruby colored and youthfully coiled on the nose, the 2016 Zinfandel Home Ranch offers, with time, aromas of chocolate-covered blueberries, underbrush, floral perfume, ripe peach, exotic spices and dark berries. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with spicy fruits supported by gently grainy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long. This has the density and texture to blossom well in bottle, so give it another 2-3 years before popping the cork. 2,408 cases produced.

The 2015 Zinfandel Home Ranch is medium garnet-purple in color and features quite an earthy nose to begin, with notions of black soil and fungi over a core of blackberry preserves, dried plums, bay leaves and star anise plus a touch of raisin cake. Full-bodied with a wicked backbone of very firm, chewy tannins and lively acid, it has a great core of muscular fruit and a long, spicy finish. 2,000 cases produced.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2014 Zinfandel Home Ranch is profoundly scented of black forest cake, prunes and dried fruit cake with hints of lavender, baking spices, espresso and licorice. It really packs in the concentrated preserved black fruits and baking spices flavors on the rich, full-bodied palate with chunky tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with great length.

The 2013 Zinfandel Home Ranch comes from a vineyard originally planted in 1895 by the family’s founder, Eduardo Seghesio. The wine has a dark ruby color, a classic Zinfandel nose of black cherry and briary wild mountain fruit, some spice, earth, medium to full body, and nice dusty, loamy soil undertones. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.
