The 2010 Barahonda Sin Madera is 100% Monastrell fermented and aged in stainless steel. Earth, underbrush, mineral, blueberry, and black cherry aromas compose the bouquet of this firm, savory, nicely proportioned red. It has the stuffing to drink well for another 4-5 years. Senorio de Barahonda dates back to 1925 and has been operated continuously by the Candela family. Their vineyards cover 840 acres in and around the town of Yecla in Murcia and include some of the oldest Monastrell plantings in Spain. All of the wines are produced from organically farmed estate-grown fruit.Importer: Ole Imports, New Rochelle, NY; www.oleimports.com
