A co-fermented blend of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling, the 2010 Chiaroscuro displays fragrant notes of honeyed peaches, apple blossoms and jasmine over poached pears, nutmeg and cinnamon nuances. Full-bodied with a savory honey and stone fruit laced mouth with just a touch of detectable oak / toastiness, it has a wonderfully creaminess offset by refreshing acid that gives lift long into the finish. Drinking nicely now, it should improve with a year or two in bottle and drink to 2016+.
I tasted a few of Seresin’s single vineyard 2009 Pinot Noirs again this year, to check how they were developing now that they were entering their drinking window. In short, it is well worth waiting a year after release before readers consider drinking these wines!
